He also put on an encouraging show of form in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in July. If you like to bet on horse racing and are thinking of backing him again this year, early antepost prices of around 7/1 are available. It is worth noting that nine horses have previously won the race twice, the most recent was Enable who triumphed in 2017 and 2018. The final field will not be confirmed until September 30, so antepost betting rules apply until then.
Baaeed looking to bow out unbeaten
Another horse who has set tongues wagging is Baaeed. He is expected to head to to follow up his recent win at the Juddmonte International Stakes at York, where he beat Mishriff by six and a half lengths in his first trip beyond a mile.

He is the son of the much-loved Sea the Stars who also took the top prize at Longchamp. Baaeed is set to retire after the race and has yet to be beaten. He is priced at 2/1 and will be the top pick in the horse racing tips ahead of the event.
Titleholder well fancied
Japanese colt Titleholder is another who has stormed up the rankings for this race with prices of around 7/1 currently available (August 29). He is unbeaten in three outings in 2022 and has five wins and two second-place finishes from 11 starts overall.
Top mare in the frame
Alpinista is the standout mare among the potential starters. She has won her last seven in a row and recently claimed her first UK Group 1 win in the Yorkshire Oaks at the Ebor Festival. That kind of form cannot be ignored and her price has shortened to 13/2 as a result.
Local hero in form
Another contender is 2022 French Derby and Group 1 Eclipse Stakes winner Vadeni, who can still be backed at double figures with prices of 10/1 or higher available. The colt has five wins from seven races including his last three starts. He beat Mishriff by a neck at the Eclipse Stakes om his first outing outside of . He only finished fifth in the Prix de Fontainebleau at Longchamp earlier this year but that was his first trip after a 200-day break. Other notable Eclipse Stakes winners who also won the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe include Enable and Sea the Stars.
Those are the five main contenders for this year’s Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe. If all of them are confirmed in the final entry list on September 30, we could be in for one of the best races in years.
