All-Weather – Tapeta 1s56l
Previously it was both a Flat and Jump track, however, in December 1993, the course was revamped with a new all-weather floodlit track (the first in the country) and the Jumps were removed – HRH Queen Elizabeth II officially re-opened the new course in 1994.
Arena Racing Company 372x6a
The racecourse was purchased by the Arena Racing Company in 1999 and in 2014 the racing surface was upgraded again, to become the first Tapeta track in Europe. Now, just four other racecourses in the world use Tapeta: Newcastle in the UK (since 2016), Golden Gate Fields and Presque Isle Downs in the USA and Tapeta Park in Tasmania.
